Ollie is a Central Coast local who has loved fishing for about as long as he can remember — in fact, “fish” may have been his first word. He grew up fishing with his dad, a passionate and experienced fisherman who passed on not only his knowledge, but a love of the natural world and a respect for the places we fish.

Now nearly 15, Ollie fishes just about every way he can — estuaries, beaches and rocks, with bait or lures, and always with the same curiosity. As he likes to say, “You've got to learn to think like a fish.” For Ollie, being outdoors and fishing is also one of his favourite ways to switch off, explore and just chill.

Ollie is patient, practical and great with younger kids. He enjoys showing people how things work and helping beginners develop the skills and confidence to have a go for themselves.

Coastal Coaching began as Ollie's Personal Exploration Project at Central Coast Sports College. What started as a school project has now grown into his first small business — combining something he loves with the chance to help other kids, families and beginners discover fishing too.
